The E.P. "Time Flies By" by J.J. Styles, is a trip through time with references found everywhere. The album cover contains imagery from the past (MacOS 7, Windows 3, Afterdark), the present (Current TextEdit app), giving us context (this wasn't released in the past). Each song references something familiar (1990's Mountain Dew commercials, 70's porn music memes, Mariah Carey, Nirvana, Nikita Lynnette Nichols). It's easy to say "just be yourself", but when one is new to life, discovering, it's important to try. "Been there, done that" should be an easy answer, live life, know thyself, pay respect to those that paved the path for you, & keep moving. DON'T LOOK BACK! Unless you want to.
